Session IV: Meeting the Needs of a Growing Community
The number of older adults across New York State — residents aged 65 and over — increased by 26
percent over the past decade, while the state’s under-65 population actually declined by 1 percent
during the same period. There are now more older adults in New York than the entire population of 21
states. A new report from the Center for an Urban Future explores what older New Yorkers need to
live, and live well in the City.

Speakers: Maria Alvarez, Executive Director, NY StateWide Senior Action Council, Inc.
Christian González-Rivera, Senior Researcher, Center for an Urban Future
