DENTAL HEALTH ACCESS

Did you know that oral health impacts your overall health?

After receiving valuable input from our CNY Health Access Task Force partners, we distributed an online survey that provided insight into the oral health crisis of Central New York.

Then we got to work! StateWide has been distributing dental hygiene supplies to communities around the state since 2021! Most recently, in 2023, StateWide distributed 14,00 toothbrushes and 10,000 tubes of toothpaste!

We are proud to report that in these 2023 distributions, we were able to partner with several local Meals on Wheels offices across Central and Western New York to provide toothpaste and information to over 2,000 participants. Additionally, for the 3rd year in a row, and in partnership with the United Way of Cayuga County, Cayuga Community Health Network, Liberty Resources, Easthill Medical, and the Day of Caring volunteers, we made and distributed over 400 Community Kits filled with hygiene supplies (toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, soap, and hand sanitizer) and information on local resources.

In December of 2023, StateWide was featured in the Health Foundation of Western and Central New York’s “Transforming Rural Health” campaign! These articles raise awareness of the health and social needs of rural western and central New York and highlight how the people who live and work in rural New York are making a difference every day!  Click HERE to find out how StateWide saw a need for dental hygiene supplies in the community and took action!
