NY StateWide Senior Action Council and the NYS Senior Medicare Patrol, in collaboration with the City of Buffalo recently hosted a Senior Safety Summit at the Richmond–Summer Senior Center on May 28, 2025. Featuring a panel of local experts—from fraud prevention specialists and personal safety advocates to wellness professionals—the event included interactive, hands‑on sessions and complimentary health screenings. Buffalo’s Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon made a special appearance, alongside representatives from the BBB, Buffalo PD, Center for Elder Law & Justice, and Erie County Consumer Protection.  The summit drew a strong turnout of older adults and caregivers, all united by a shared goal: empowering seniors with the knowledge and resources to stay safe, healthy, and financially secure. For those who missed it, WGRZ captured event highlights—accessible via the video below.
