The federal government has required the states to administer a work requirement in order to qualify or continue Medicaid benefits. This does NOT apply to people who are enrolled in Medicare. The state is working to make the process as easy as possible but we know it will cause otherwise qualified Medicaid enrollees to lose their coverage due to the problems related to certifying that an enrollee is working or exempt (due to inability to work or caregiving responsibilities.)
