- Hear about Older Americans Act programs, new legislation to meet the need of the aging population & proposed Congressional budget cuts for aging services.
- Learn skills to communicate the need for an investment in local services & organize locally for collective regional action.
- August 20th,10-11:30AM – Special Guest speakers: U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's Senior Advisor Ravi Reddi & Olivia Umoren, Director, Public Policy and Advocacy, US Aging/National Association of Area Agencies on Aging
- August 30th, 10-11:30 - Advocacy communication skill development led by NY StateWide Senior Action Council with regional breakout sessions to identify messaging that will define local advocacy talking points
