Call your Representative to urge passage of the Older Americans Act (OAA) Reauthorization 

On Tuesday, July 14, the US Senate passed (S.2120) with strong bipartisan support under the leadership of Sen. Gillibrand and Sen. Scott. The bill modernizes the work, funding and reporting done by Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), it includes support for a national resource center for social isolation, codification of grab-and-go meals and a 4.62-percent increase in authorization levels each year for five years.

Please ask your House member to follow the Senate in passing the OAA before the end of the year. With the Congressional August recess starting in two weeks, the House is likely to wait until September to consider the bill, giving advocates time to make calls, write letters, send emails and encourage other advocates for Older New Yorkers to take similar action.
