NEWS:   New York StateWide Senior Action Council has been awarded a grant by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) in an effort to promote financial justice and economic security among seniors in the Buffalo area. New York State Wide Senior Action Council welcomes the opportunity to participate in NCRC’s National Neighbors Silver program. We will utilize our 40 year-history of defending the rights of seniors in our state to directly communicate with elders, provide them with information on how to avoid financial predators and to build that communication into permanent activities which will promote their financial wellness and stability. We want to prevent problems before they develop and combat them where they already exist.” said Maria Alvarez, Executive Director of New York StateWide Senior Action. StateWide will partner locally with long-standing organizations such as Neighborhood Senior Action Connectors, Hispanics United of Buffalo, Senior Services for the city of Buffalo, and New Yorkers for Responsible Lending. Seniors wishing to be part of the effort as community ambassadors or those needing assistance can call 1-716-851-5550 for more information.
